Development Organization:
Economic development in Cherokee County is a team
effort. Resources and expertise are shared in a
cooperative effort between cities, county, private
sector and the Cherokee Area Economic Development
Corporation (CAEDC). The CAEDC office is the place
to begin with your project. Information on incentives,
services, utilities and labor pool is available.

The
Cherokee Area Economic Development Corporation was
founded in 1989 by the citizens of Cherokee County
to further community and economic development. An
18 member volunteer board of directors representing
the member communities and the rural portions of
Cherokee County guides the organization. CAEDC is
a private non-profit organization funded by Cherokee
County and the member communities of Aurelia, Cherokee,
Cleghorn, Marcus, Meriden, Quimby and Washta, as
well as, private contributions.
SERVICES:
CAEDC services you can use include business start
up and expansion assistance, site location information,
finance packaging, grant writing, revolving loan
fund, and state and federal incentive applications.
CAEDC
is a resource for labor and demographic statistics,
as well as, a link to local business and industry.
