AgState is looking to hire an Agronomy Regional Business Leader in Cherokee, IA.
Under the direction of the VP of Agronomy & Corporate Marketing, the Agronomy Regional Business Leader is primarily responsible for in-field sales coaching and development of the agronomy sales team with the objective of aggressively growing market share and overall profitability. In addition, the Business Leader will be expected to form deep relationships with the top 20 accounts to help maximize our share of wallet with these key growers.

YOU WILL
- Sales Team Development
- Coaches and provides feedback to effectively and constructively enable individuals to achieve high performance and certification.
- Attracts, develops, and retains critical and diverse talent.
- Communicatees to team and proactively shares business goals and objectives.
- Conducts in-field ride along with staff and assists in the pre-call planning and post call debriefs.
- Identifies areas to improve grower market share and provides proactive and strategic solutions to team.
- Business Planning & Execution
- Develop individual business plans for each sales agronomist.
- Monitor execution of business plan and provide quarterly updates/forecast.
- Key grower follow-up on SA call activity.
- Executes strategy to grow Agronomy sales and increase margins.
- Sales Team Enhancement
- Continually recruit new talent by attending industry events.
- Coordinate continuing education.
- Coordinate career development with SA.
- General Management
- Monitor AR by sales agronomist and mediate the collection when needed.
- Promote Product Management Interaction & collaborate on strategy.
- Promote Key Supplier Interaction
- Inspect grower claims when needed.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, and SOPs
- Consistently use the AgState Proven Sales Process to include:
- Making farm sales calls with team members.
- Planning and successful execution of business and action plans.
- Quarterly Forecasting
- Manage relationships with 20 key customers.
- Develop relationships with key influencers in market area, i.e. farm managers, etc.
- Bring new product ideas for consideration by Product Management.
YOU HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Rapid expansion and improvement in technology; from information flow to biotechnology.
- Knowledge of agriculture and particular disciplines in retail agronomy is a plus.
- Valid Driver License
