This key position involves but is not limited to, conducting regular inspections and performing daily preventative maintenance, plant wide support for AC/DC electrical, electrical distribution, drives, breakers, transformers, PLC controls and completing work orders on the electronic CMMS system. High School Diploma required. Three years of experience in maintaining electrical systems and Instruments and Controls in the field. Successful candidate should possess basic computer skills, have the ability to handle multiple tasks, and have excellent safety awareness. Knowledge of National Electric Code and NFPA-70b requirements are helpful, but not required. Key responsibilities will include maintenance and calibration of process instrumentation devices, electrical power distribution, monitoring devices, VFD drives, motors and ensuring a safe operational environment. Candidates should be proficient working with 120VAC to 480VAC, 4-20mA, and HART communications. Position requires the ability to read and understand P&ID drawings, schematic drawings, control loop drawings and PLC logic. This is a full time position working 7am to 5pm Monday – Friday, with a rotating on-call schedule.

This position has a starting wage of $40+ per hour.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Electrician Certification-NFPA 70E training

  • Knowledge of the ethanol production and maintenance processes is helpful
  • Forklift and heavy equipment operations is preferred
  • Knowledge of all local, state, and federal regulations for the industry is helpful

Description of Duties:

  • Conducts regular inspections of production equipment and performs daily preventative maintenance duties on plant equipment
  • Responsible to test, tune, analyze, adjust, replace, and repair malfunctioning on plant equipment
  • Perform all project work, maintenance duties, and preventative maintenance as assigned and necessary to support plant goals and expectations
  • Complete work orders and equipment repairs in a timely fashion
  • Assists with the evaluation and scheduling of grounding and coordination studies, arc flash assessments, infrared electrical inspections, and MCC power room cleaning.
  • Supports the calibration and service of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, flow, density, conductivity, speed, amp meters, transmitters, and indicators.
  • Assists with lighting design projects and audits
  • Provides basic network and PLC/HMI troubleshooting
  • Support efforts to maximize plant efficiency
  • Maintain the physical condition and appearance of our facilities which reflect the standards of quality and service of our business
  • Installs new equipment as required, making electrical connections, and aligning equipment for production use as required
  • Review reports and inspection details, assigning corrective action and follow through until completion
  • Documents time spent and parts used on projects and work orders by completing time records through use of electronic CMMS system
  • Possess a basic knowledge of most plant processes, controls, and operations in order to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions
  • Maintains manuals of replacement parts, equipment, and maintenance requirements to facilitate emergency repairs.  Maintains such files and records in an orderly manner for future reference
  • Develop knowledge of maintenance files, parts, and vendors, and accesses information on the department computer as required
  • Communicates effectively with plant operators to anticipate maintenance requirements or repair projects
  • May communicate with vendors regarding the solutions to problems, and may make recommendations for the purchase of parts
  • Organize, stock, and maintain housekeeping in the maintenance shop
  • Conducts regular inspections of production equipment and performs daily preventative maintenance duties on plant equipment
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of hand and power tools used in the repair and maintenance of plant equipment
  • Possess knowledge of blueprints, equipment specifications and related manuals
  • Participates in waste and cost saving programs, providing recommendations for improvements in related procedures
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with fellow employees
  • Always maintains the work area in a neat and orderly manner
  • Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment, and successfully completes all safety certification requirements
  • May be called in to work unusual or extended schedules due to equipment breakdowns or similar circumstances
  • Verification of safe Lockout Tagout procedures before commencement of any work on equipment
  • Maintain facility in optimum condition to assure minimal response time in the event of emergency conditions
  • Support efforts on safety and environmental compliance, continuous improvement, maximum plant efficiency
  • Assure that repairs follow all codes and regulations
  • Attend training, safety, and departmental meetings and activities
  • Works all preventative maintenance shutdowns
  • Additional tasks that may be assigned by plant management
  • Complete all tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager
