Laboratory Operations Specialist (Client Services Department – Full-time with Benefits)

Position Summary
The Laboratory Operations Specialist supports the daily efficiency of Foundation Analytical Laboratory by
managing laboratory supplies, glassware, freight receiving, inventory, and warehouse operations. This role
serves as a critical link between Client Services and Laboratory Operations by ensuring materials,
consumables, and equipment are organized, available, and ready to support testing activities.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-minded, detail-oriented, and enjoys creating efficient
systems that support laboratory excellence.

Essential Responsibilities
Laboratory Glassware & Equipment Support
 Operate laboratory dishwashing and glassware cleaning processes.
 Inspect cleaned glassware for cleanliness and readiness.
 Organize, distribute, and replenish laboratory glassware supplies.
 Maintain glassware storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
 Support laboratory staff with routine supply and equipment needs.

Freight & Receiving
 Receive incoming packages, freight shipments, and laboratory supplies.
 Verify shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
 Route incoming materials to the appropriate department.
 Coordinate deliveries with vendors and shipping carriers.
 Document and report shipping discrepancies or damaged materials.

Inventory & Consumables Management
 Monitor inventory levels of laboratory consumables and office supplies.
 Restock laboratory workstations and common supply areas.
 Prepare inventory reorder recommendations.
 Assist with purchasing requests and inventory tracking.
 Maintain organized inventory storage areas.

 Pipette tips
 Sample containers
 Bottles and jars
 Labels
 Chemicals and reagents
 Shipping supplies
 Cleaning supplies
Warehouse Operations
 Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse and storage areas.
 Coordinate movement of supplies between warehouse and laboratory areas.
 Manage inventory locations and material storage systems.
 Assist with periodic inventory counts and audits.
 Ensure proper storage conditions and stock rotation practices.

Client Services Support
 Assist with sample intake during high-volume periods.
 Support sample receipt and associated activities as needed.
 Restock Client Services with supplies.
 Help prepare shipping materials and customer supply kits.
 Serve as a resource for operational support across departments.

Quality & Safety
 Follow laboratory quality policies and SOPs.
 Maintain compliance with ISO 17025 requirements applicable to assigned duties.
 Follow laboratory safety procedures and appropriate PPE requirements.
 Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
 Identify opportunities to improve organization, efficiency, and inventory control.

Qualifications
Required
 High school diploma or equivalent.
 Strong organizational and time management skills.
 Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
 Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
 Excellent attention to detail.
 Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
