Job Overview
Under general supervision, is responsible for work involving supervision of the daily activities of delinquent and dependent youth at the Youth Emergency Services Center.
Responsibilities
– Supervise daily activities of juvenile delinquents residing in the facility
– Record behavior observation reports
– Promote and support appropriate behavior
– Provide group and individual counseling for all residents
– Provide crisis intervention counseling for clients
– Make sound and independent judgments quickly under a high stress setting
– Enforce rules consistently
– Adapt to changes
– Have working knowledge of the care, counseling, and management of delinquent juveniles
– Be readily available for emergency situations
– Physically restrain clients, if necessary
Requirements
– Must be able to get clearance on child abuse registry, sexual offender’s registry, Dept. of Public Safety checks and criminal history checks
– Be in good physical condition
– Must be at least 19 years of age
– High school diploma or GED or be actively enrolled in obtaining a GED
– Have a valid driver’s license
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 32 per week
