Job Title: Local CDL Delivery Driver

Reports to: General Manager

Job Summary: Local Delivery Drivers are responsible for the safe and reliable transportation of our products using a flatbed semi-truck.

Essential Functions:
 Verifies load against shipping papers.
 Report in to General Manager before departing the plant with the first shipment of the day, either in person or via phone
 Report to the General Manager at the end of shift in person or by phone if the General Manager is out of the office
 Review delivery instructions prior to departing MetalMax facility
 Must check off all deliveries with customers, by making sure to have them sign off on the delivery as complete and correct
 Must contact the General Manager immediately if there is a discrepancy or issue while at the customer’s facility before departing that location
 Ensures that all products listed on the loading list is loaded in the proper sequence to allow ease of delivery, proper weight distribution, and safe transportation
 Maintains a truck log in according to state and federal regulations.
 Inspects truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water
 Positions blocks and tie straps around items to secure cargo during transit
 Reload truck for the next day’s shipments as time allows

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
 A safe driving record is required for this position
 One year of verifiable OTR driving experience is preferred
 Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection, and maintenance
 Up-to-date DOT physical and drug screen
 Ability to lift 80 pounds
Education: An up-to-date Class A CDL is required.
