Job Title: Production / Loading Technician
Reports To: Production Manager
Job Summary: The Production Technician is responsible for the operations of all machinery required to produce high quality products, following all safety guidelines.
Essential Functions:
- After completing appropriate training, operates all machinery required following safety guidelines: machinery can include but not limited to rollformers, trim folder, slitter, shears, forklifts as assigned.
- Loading and unloading products onto flatbed trucks as needed.
- Complete quality checks as needed to provide accurate, damage-free products.
- Once training is complete, must have the ability to operate a forklift and yard truck as needed.
- Must follow all plant safety procedures and use all applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Clean the work area at the end of each shift. This includes sweeping the floor, placing boards in the proper storage area, and dumping of trash.
- Cross-train as directed and be willing and able to work at any position in the manufacturing process, on an as-needed basis.
- Complete all other tasks as required or assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or upper management.
Knowledge, Skills, & abilities:
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work at heights over 5’-10”
- Ability to read a tape measure, understand basic mathematical calculations and use a calculator
- Crane and forklift skills are preferred
- Must be able to work overtime hours as required
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work outside on the shipping yard as needed
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Demands/Working Conditions: The person in this position must be able to lift 60 pounds or more. They must be able to adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time. This position will require eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a heavy machinery. While in and around the manufacturing facility or on MetalMax property, company safety requirements must be closely followed.
