The University of Iowa Health Care Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center Community Outreach & Engagement team and the College of Public Health are hiring multiple Rural Cancer Prevention and Control Specialists to join our team.
These are remote positions, and candidates must reside in an eligible rural Iowa county, including: Allamakee, Appanoose, Audubon, Benton, Bremer, Buchanan, Buena Vista, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Cedar, Cerro Gordo, Cherokee, Chickasaw, Clarke, Clay, Clayton, Clinton, Crawford, Davis, Decatur, Delaware, Dickinson, Emmet, Fayette, Floyd, Franklin, Greene, Grundy, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Howard, Humboldt, Ida, Iowa, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Jones, Keokuk, Kossuth, Louisa, Lucas, Lyon, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Mitchell, Monona, Monroe, Muscatine, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Poweshiek, Ringgold, Sac, Shelby, Sioux, Tama, Union, Wapello, Washington, Wayne, Webster, Winnebago, Winneshiek, Worth, or Wright.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and enhancing connections between the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and various communities and organizations.
- Implementing and supporting evidence-based strategies for cancer prevention, screening, and survivorship in local communities.
- Serving as a liaison for cancer hubs under the Rural Health Transformation Grant, supporting planning, partnerships, and technical assistance.
