Corteva currently has an exciting opportunity for a Production Agronomist to support our soybean seed production operations in northwest and west central Iowa. Gain exposure to and knowledge about our seed business while utilizing your strong communication and agronomic skills to work with growers, customers, and employees.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the primary field contact for contracted soybean seed production growers
  • Involved in all aspects of grower relations, including but not limited to: acreage allocations, contracts, and conflict resolution
  • Manage and recruit growers to ensure the highest quality seed is being produced
  • Utilize digital tools and data to help drive decisions that enhance quality and yield
  • Coordinate variety placement, integrated pest management programs, planting, isolation, field inspections, and harvest operations in your assigned area
  • Utilize your leadership skills by supervising seasonal workers to address peak workloads
  • Lead safety programs and strongly support the growth and maintenance of Corteva’s safety culture
  • Implement and maintain soybean quality standards
  • Obtain appropriate licenses and certification when needed

Qualifications

What Skills You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Agronomy or Ag field)
  • Ag related experience/background
  • Driver’s License and good driving record
  • Knowledge of agronomic practices (pest management, disease ID, product placement)
  • Good verbal communication skills – ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience as well as significant experience with computer software and programs

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • 3-5 years of experience working with seed growers and seed plant operations
  • Certified Crop Advisor
  • UAV pilot certification
  • Leadership/supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of Digital Ag including, but not limited to, farm equipment monitors, field mapping programs, unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Priority management (ability to handle multiple task simultaneously with urgency)
